The 72 Hec Solar Heights site includes a 12 hectare site with direct wide gate access directly on to the newly tarred Phildelphia to Malmesbury Secondary road.
The main advantage of this site for a trucking, fruit handling, container store, an export/import store, large unit warehousing, transport and distribution hub is that it is strategically placed to serve the Boland, West Coast, and Cape Town areas, and to link to the Saldanha Port facility, as well as the Cape Town Harbour. Malmesbury, Saldanha, Paarl, Stellenbosch, Bellville, Cape Town, and Atlantis are all freely accessible to the area. Further the main new refurbished N7 double carriageway allows access to the Namaqualand and Namibia corridor and destination.
There is a large section of this area with well drained hard surface.
The main water main from Voelvlei Dam to Cape Town, runs past the property, and water access
is directly off this. Water pressure can be up to 5 bar off this pipeline.
A further advantage of this site is that there is an existent office building of 270 m sq situate at the wide gate access, with 4 offices, boardroom and reception ( this includes a kitchenette and 3 toilets). This office building is in position to control the gate access to the Distribution Hub.
The Rail link from Malmesbury to Bellville is operative and at least two passenger trains run daily : one from Malmesbury to Bellville every morning at about 06h00, and another from Bellville to Malmesbury at 18h00 every evening. Further the rail link is used for the transport of bulk cement
from quarries to the north of Malmesbury.
The rail link from Bellville splits at Kalbaskraal. One branch goes to Saldanha (servicing the steel roll factory there ) and the port area, and one branch goes north towards Namaqualand.
The Kalbaskraal Rail Station has at least one long ground level siding, presently in use for stone quarried in the district, and loaded on to trains at this siding via wheel loader, as well as a station platform in decayed ( but operating ) condition, which Station is 450 metres from the Solar Park access gate .
The Kalbaskraal village is further served by buses from Potsdam Bus Hub ( Tableview ) and Malmesbury. There are limited Pakistani owned small retain shops in the village, including a reasonably stocked hardware store.
